"DRUG RELAY"
This is an Israeli short story.
The moral of the story is profound, and it expresses the confusion of modern people in treating diseases:
I was on the stairwell and suddenly felt a tingling sensation in my left ear.
My wife insisted that I see a doctor. She said that people are often not careful enough and end up with serious illnesses.
The doctor looked at my ears in detail, took about half an hour to look up, and then told me:
"I'm going to prescribe 6 penicillin tablets, which will immediately clear the buildup in your left ear."
I swallowed the pills as directed.
Two days later, the itching was gone, and my left ear seemed to be reborn!
The only thing that still affected my mood was that I had red spots on my abdomen that were extremely itchy and unbearable. I immediately went to see a dermatologist, who only glanced at me and said to me:
"Some people are not suitable for taking penicillin, so they may have allergic reactions. Don't worry, just take 12 chlortetracycline pills and everything will be normal in a few days."
Chlortetracycline had the desired effect and the spots disappeared.
However, I developed swollen knees and a high fever. I staggered and dragged myself to a senior doctor.
We are no strangers to these phenomena. He reassured me that this symptom is often related to the efficacy of chlortetracycline.
He gave me 32 oxytetracycline tablets.
A miracle happened! The high fever is gone, and so is the swelling in my knees. However, I developed fatal pain in my kidneys.
The expert was invited to my bedside. He concluded that the fatal pain was the result of taking oxytetracycline. It must not be taken lightly. After all, the kidneys are a critical part.
So he asked a female nurse to give me several injections of chlortetracycline, which eliminated all the bacteria in my body.
This therapy was confirmed through modern medical experiments and countless examinations and tests, but while there was not even a living bacteria in my body, my muscles and nerve bundles also suffered the same fate as the bacteria.
Now, the doctor says that only a large dose of chloramphenicol can save my life. So, I took a large dose of chloramphenicol...
A few days later, people who admired me came to attend my funeral, and many idle people were among them.
In his touching eulogy, the rabbi described my strong fight against the disease.
Unfortunately, in the end, the medicine failed to work and I died at a young age. It is regrettable...
However, when I arrived in the underworld, I accidentally realized that my original problem, the itching in my left ear, was actually caused by a mosquito bite...
I finally learned that when a doctor uses medicine to treat a disease, he usually only cures the problem he is responsible for, and it is not his responsibility to damage other organs.
Therefore, if you constantly use medicine for headaches and foot pains, it may eventually cause necrosis of the whole body, and you will report to heaven inexplicably!
This novel is called "Drug Relay".
*There are many things that enslave us in the world, and drugs are undoubtedly one of them.*
The novel is of course exaggerated, but it also tells some realities.
*Current medical treatments may remove the "symptoms" on the surface, but they do not adequately treat the root cause. On the contrary, when treating disease "A", the side effects of the drug brought out disease "B", and then when treating diseases A and B, disease "C" appeared again... As a result, the more diseases were treated, the more the disease became. The more important it is, the more expensive it will be.*
Therefore, middle-aged and elderly friends must be aware of health care, pay attention to nutritional balance, exercise appropriately, maintain an optimistic attitude, and strive to avoid getting sick and please go to the hospital less often.
