Success is the best revenge

Frank Sinatra once said, "The best revenge is massive success."

In Steve Jobs' Commencement Speech at Stanford University in 2005, he spoke of his challenges in life, of Apple, the company he started, fired him.

A few years later, Job went back to run Apple. Rather than take revenge on those at the company that caused his dismissal, he set his sights on success, of both Apple, the company he loved, and his own.

Steve Jobs said:

"I didn't know then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life."

Some believe revenge is justice, but that is vigilante thinking. Thinking about exacting revenge is a human response, but it offers little in the way of satisfaction and not a worthwhile use of our time, energy, and productivity? 

Isn't it better if we are a success despite it all?

Rather than retaliate, we should  consider negativity as a temporary setback and not a barrier and refocus on the task on hand by reestablishing  trust in ourselves & our mission.

Confucius said, "Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves." 

Events that conjure revenge images in our head are never as catastrophic in hindsight. 

Anger and hurt take our energy away - we want the person who caused us pain to have their comeuppance. 

But, I have always believed that, we should not think about what they deserve, rather we should focus our energy on our eventual win.

Rechanneling our negative emotions to positivity allows us to see the light at the end of the tunnel. 

There is always something or someone who is there to derail our trip but we need to constantly put ourself back on the road to success. 

Letting go of anger and angst is success in itself.

And let's not forget that the achievement of a milestone and success is just the beginning of the journey and not the end.

Let's focus on positive outlook and see limitless opportunities because that will help meet challenges more efficiently, and we can handle decisions better with more optimism. 

Let's focus on success and not on revenge and stay blessed forever.
