2. Next, it is relatively easier to make money when the stakes are low (a few thousands or lakhs).
When one is in the above phase, one is much lower down in the *food chain*, meaning; inherent knowledge is low or one is dependent upon others to give stock tips etc.
At this stage, most (not all) folks spread their bets around 10s of penny stocks with the thinking that even if a couple of them reach the finishing line, it will lead to a successful & desired outcome.
3. As ones exposure to equity markets increase, the stakes do too; that's when it becomes tricky & extremely dangerous if one is riding on the luck factor.
Each mistake can set you back from your goals significantly + the often ignored & unseen mental damage that it causes to most (again, not all) people's psyche.
4. Press of a button level easy access to markets through mobiles/ desktops coupled with a raging Bull market + Social media overload like the one we find ourselves in these days, prods most (again not all) of us to act...whether buy or sell, look for the next multibagger, my friend's stocks are hitting UCs while mine are stagnating or worse hitting LCs., greed-FOMO etc. etc.
5. All these factors are a heady cocktail for most of us to resist.
One thing is for sure, market teaches everyone (not to most, but every single participant) a lesson sooner or later...
Many acknowledge this, most are unable to; because their pride doesn't allow it.
The key to long-term survival here is to make the mistakes, acknowledge & learn your lessons early-on while the stakes for you, are still low.
6. Identify who are you, what works for you & follow that path.
If you are a rational & reasonable person, you will reach your chosen level of contentment or milestone, at some point.
If you can identify that, you would reach equanimity which is essential to survive in markets; over a long period of time.
