Congratulations to the  "Unsmart" scientists of  ISRO.  You have have done it.

Unsmart People

Yesterday, along with millions of our countrymen, I proudly watched live launch of LVM 3, carrying Chandrayaan 3. I have also been part of the crowd in the hallowed precinct of Mission Control Centre in SDSC many a times, during my career in ISRO.

Yesterday and in earlier occasions too, I realised that ensembled crowd are generally "unsmart" ones, in the sense of perception of successful people in the media and reel life. Most speak English in style and twang of the corner of India they belong to. 

Mostly wear unfashionable dresses. Most may feel really helpless when tying tie knot. Shirts are mostly untucked. Feet are adorned with chappals and sandals. Mostly sari-clad ladies, with flowers tucked in unfashionable braids. Generally most of them, both gentlemen and ladies, will sport bibhuti or red dots on their foreheads, signifying that they have offered customary morning Puja before landing in the control centre. Senior functionaries would have travelled to Tirupati a day prior to launch. After the success of launch, many of the senior people will be dedicating their success to God's blessings and  Indians at large. They are oblivious of being periodically berated by self professed rational chatterati in social and print media for mixing God with science.

Most of them are products of not-at-all-fashionable engineering colleges, tucked inside India's hinterlands.

 ISRO hardly has people who are original products of so called prestigious engineering colleges, who boast their presence, by shouting from the rooftops, in top 10 ranks given by many rating agencies. 

We have some stray MTechs from IITs, mostly through ISRO's sponsorship programmes.

But one aspect is common. ISROites are professionally smart engineers, producing extremely high end technology with frugal budget, modest salary, humongous dedication and efforts, and an unflinching pride in contributing to build India's future and glory.

Congratulations to Team ISRO for making Indians proud.
