Why are farming reforms necessary and why are the hardworking farmers of this country still poor? We will try to answer this question with live example.
Unless such exploitation is stopped, farmers will continue to commit suicide...Exploiters Will Clearly Not Be Happy About Ending Their Hegemony
This is a farmer who sold 50 kg of eggplants/brinjals/baingan (if you please) to the commission agent in Ahmednagar. Their hegemony was perpetuated by the APMC's.
This is a bill given by the commission agent (adate in Maharashtra or arthiya as known in Punjab )in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.
The farmer has sold 50 kg of brinjals and has recieved a price of ₹1&₹2. Per Kilogram
The aggregate bill is ₹75.
"Deduction" ₹65
Amount in the hand of the farmer ₹5. The other ₹5 has disappeared into thin air...
Now the farmer got all of ₹5 for 50 kg of brinjal sold, that's a rate of 10 paise per kg.
Now the argument forwarded by the opposition is if big corporates are allowed they will strangulate the marginal farmer.
