Here are a couple of thoughts I need to share with you all. The list could be endless but a few that, in my opinion, merit special mention.
1. Use this God-given time & peace to reflect on your life – where you wanted to be, where you are presently & where would you like to go from here.
2. Ensure you remain healthy – exercise regularly, eat/drink judiciously & rest just about enough. Keep a track of your weight & waistline. None of these should go out of control.
3. Follow all the medical protocols prescribed in letter & spirit. Remember its absolutely important to remain safe. REMEMBER " JAG JYUNDEYAN DE MELE"
4. Manage your time well. Catch up on your reading, exercise, hobbies, family conversations, leisurely conversations with friends & family on phone, but strictly limited time on screen - FaceBook & WhatsApp, etc. Catch up on your hobbies. Do something. Don't be a couch potato.
5. Reduce the clutter in your life. Clutter is the enemy of efficiency. Clean up your wardrobes, bookshelves & your thoughts where needed.
6. Increase your productivity. Contribute by sharing the daily workload with others around you & be useful. Do whatever comes your way in your home. Take stock of your needs at the end of every day before going to sleep every night. Re-hash your routine & thought process, if required.
7. Be courteous & nice to everyone around you, especially near & dear ones. Use PLEASE, SORRY & THANKYOU in more than ample measure. Here err on the plus side. You would be pleasantly surprised by the power of these three wonderful expressions.
8. Use soothing & comforting words in your conversations at all times. Ensure that none of your actions, intended & unintended cause any discomfort, mental or physical to anyone around you. This includes your thoughts, actions & your body language. Avoid harsh words that act like sandpaper, despite any provocation. Harsh words create lasting wounds that are difficult to heal.
9. Do remember, your children are extremely impressionable & you are their role model. They imitate all your actions, right or wrong. Make sure you set a fine example for them to emulate.
10. Appreciating the domestic help. They look after all of us by doing things that we do not want to do in our lives. Be patient & nice to them. Practice compassion & gratitude in ample quantities.
11. As is wisely said, "charity begins at home". Start doing these & experience the wonderful vibes that come to surround you.
