One of the key tenets of buffett’s philosophy is buy and hold, where one looks for companies with sustainable competitive advantage and buys them at a reasonable price. Once you make the purchase, buffett advises the investor to hold for long periods of time (provided the business maintains its competitive position)
Thus if you are a die hard fan of Warren Buffett; than you should have the patience to hold and this holding period may be very large say upto 10 years and above. However we here differ in Indian scenario where we need to book profit by short term holdings as we consider that days of getting married to stocks is over at least for the time being in India as Reliance may be a case in point and thus use the short term holding stocks opportunities where you enter and exit with in a small period and get the profit in hand.
