Feedmyinbox was an aggregator where one could enter the url of the website and one will get updates in email from the site as soon as it is published or as per set time schedule.
Earlier it was a full free version but later on it became a paid website where above 5 news feed one had to undertake the paid services. Probably this was the place where it went wrong as numerous free news and website aggregators are available and people can use their service.
Now it has decided to shut down its services wef 10 Jan 2012. The timeline for same as sent by Feedmyinbox to its clients is as appended below:
Starting today (November 9), we will no longer accept new signups or feed subscriptions via FeedMyInbox.com. Existing free/paying customers still have full access to their accounts. Email updates will continue and you can still login to add/remove feeds at your liesure. These accounts will not be effected until January 10, 2013.
The same is true for webmasters. Your signup forms and emails will continue to work until January 10, 2013.
On or before December 1, 2012 - All outgoing emails will have a note on top explaining the shut-down.
December 10, 2012 - No further payments will be processed.
January 10, 2013 - No further email updates will be sent to customers.
They have even given a reason by stating that to cut the long story short, we failed to generate enough revenue to sustain the business long-term and justify the time necessary for ongoing support, maintenance and feature development. We are glad that atleast they are honest in owning the reason for shutdown.
Thus the moral of the whole story is that one has to undertake a very conscious and deliberate decision of moving from free to paid version. A few services similar Feedmyinbox can be seen at Feedmyinbox alternatives or by visiting the related post link below. a
