It appears fiascos or going back on their words is the second name for India govt. Have a look when central statistical organisation of India (CSO) had announced that index of industrial production ( IIP) had gone up by 6.8 percent in Jan 2012 on year –on-year basis. However when the real story broke out and it has been found that it is just meagre 1.1%. We can not call it a mistake but a blunder. The heads must roll as this data is used for distributing aids and making a number of policy decisions. Now blame for wrong dta has been labeled on the wrong data provided by Directorate of Sugar in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs.
We had a similar blunder last year when govt gave exaggerated export claims and claim was not meagre as it was off by more than $9.4 Billions.
Indian govt has gone back on its word of retail liberalisation and now we have gone back on GAAR issue which has been pended for one year. They must understand that each spoken word of the govt has an implication and they make sure that such mistakes do not occur in future. We wish them all the luck as it is not the fault of Indian govt as they are naive and innocent.
