The RBI credit policy was bold this time as market got Jaroorat se Jyada Offer with 50 basis point cut. The RBI has lowered banks' cash reserve ratio (CRR) by 125 basis point since January 2012 and has released more than Rs 80,000 crore into the banking system.
As a result of this rate cut; ICICI bank has taken the lead as it has lowered its lending and deposit rates by 25 basis points each.
PNB has also taken a lead and has announced rate cut of 0.25% wef 01 May 2012. The bank has decreased the base rate by 25 basis points from 10.75% to 10.50%.
So home loan seekers can look forward to getting home loan cheaper by quarter percentage which means a whole lot of savings.
