We all know that travelling with Kingfisher can be risky as one is not sure when its flights will get cancelled. However Kingfisher has teamed up with travel portals and has devised a new scheme called as Opaque fare scheme where one do not come to know about the name of the airline till the time the amount has been paid. This Opaque fare is a scam to sell Kingfisher airlines tickets at a discounted rate.
Jetairways has taken these travel portals to task under operating a scam and using predatory pricing and causing discomfort to the passengers. It has even lodged a complaint with Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and has threated to snap ties with travel portals like Makemytrip and Yatra etc which are part of Opaque fare scheme.
Keyur Joshi, Chief Operating Officer, MakeMyTrip stated that they have resolved the matter with Jetairways and are taking corrective actions in the manner in which they display opaque fares to ensure no airline is hurt.
