Citigroup Chief Executive Vikram Pandit made headlines in year 2010 when he announced that he will take a salary of $1 and no bonus in 2010 as bank was undergoing recesssionary times.
However golden days are back as Citigroup Chief Executive Vikram Pandit has been rewarded in year 2011 and has been paid $14.86 million. This has been notified through a a filing with the Securities and Exchange Committee. The 2011 payout included salary of $1.7 million and cash supplemented by a cash bonus of $5.3 million and options valued at $7.8 million. In 2009, Pandit's total pay package was $128,751.
The kind gesture by the bank is because of this third biggest US bank coming back into profitability after the American government bailed it out when recession hit the country.
