Sudarshan Chemical Industries (SUDRCHK-B) is engaged in diverse business activities operating though its divisions of pigments, agrochemicals and environment management. It was incorporated as a private limited company on Feb. 19, 1951 and converted into a public limited company on Dec. 31, 1974. Sudarshan has specialized in colors and chemicals for over 50 years and has acquired a strong position in especially the color business in India. The company is the flagship bearer of the Rathi group of companies, which also includes Suviron Products. The ISO 9001 certified company manufactures organic and inorganic pigments used in paints, printing inks, plastics and several other industries; specialty pigments including pearl or effect pigments, mica-based pearl pigments, and lead carbonate based pearl pigments; insecticides, fungicides, plant growth regulators and their formulations like Triazoplus for the domestic and international markets. Started in technical collaboration with Radian Corporation, USA, the environment management division offers consultancy in the fields of waste water treatment, solid/hazardous waste management, gaseous emission control, microbial culture and safety services. It has also been accredited with ISO 14001, ISO 18000 and ISO 17025 international quality standards. Manufacturing units are located at Pune, Roha and Mahad in Maharashtra with installed capacities of 5,430 MTPA inorganic pigments, 7,245 MTPA organic pigments and dyestuffs, 2,500 MTPA intermediates and 3,520 MTPA pesticides. The company has a well established R&D laboratory recognized by Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR). Designing a wide variety of treatment plants for clients such as Bajaj Auto, Telco, Cummins India, Manikchand Packaging, Tetra Pak India and Marathwada Chemicals, it has to its credit developed common effluent treatment plants at Vatva, Ahmedabad. Recent awards include the most prestigious safety award from the National Safety Council (NSC) in India for its Mahad production plant, recognized for achieving a Zero Accident Frequency Rate for three years in succession. The company caters to Asian Paints, Berger Paints, Coates of India, Rajiv Plastics, ICI, Akzo Nobel, Sun Chemicals and others. since the start of 2005.
