Sree Rayalaseema Hi-Strength Hypo (SREERAYAL), part of the USD 150 million TGV group, is the only Indian manufacturer of calcium hypochlorite, and one of the very few in the world. It was incorporated on March 28, 2005 and got its present name on Aug. 3, 2006. The diversified TGV conglomerate has interests in chemicals, financial services, merchant banking, securities, real estate, power, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, information technology, personal products, salt and aquaculture. The ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 certified company has its manufacturing unit in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh and manufactures calcium hypochlorite, stable bleaching powder, monochloro acetic acid, sulphuric acid, chlorosulphonic acid, bromine, and bottles hydrogen gas with installed capacities of 13,200 MTPA, 9,900 MTPA, 2,400 MTPA, 49,500 MTPA, 33,000 MTPA, 65 MTPA and 5.544 million cubic meters respectively. Calcium Hypochlorite is used extensively in aquaculture, textile, leather, paper and sugar industries. Other products find use in water treatment, aquaculture, pharmaceutical, dyes and intermediaries, soaps and detergents, explosives petrochemicals, photography, pesticides, fertilizer and other sectors. A state-of-the-art sodium process technology developed through in-house R&D efforts helps in the manufacture of calcium hypochlorite with a chlorine content of 65% to 70%. The 9 MW bio-mass power project at Kurnool caters to the growing power requirements. Capacitors are in place and steam is used for refrigeration to conserve energy. Having won the certificate of merit awarded by CHEMEXCIL for outstanding export performance, the company is a recognized export house, and calcium hypochlorite is exported to USA, Australia, China, France, Germany, England, Hungary, Iran, Malaysia, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, Mauritius, Netherlands, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Sri Lanka, and several other countries across the globe.
