Shriram EPC is engaged in providing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project management services and manufactures 250KW wind turbine generators (WTGs). It was incorporated on Jun. 12, 2000. The ISO 9001:2000 certified company operates through its two business segments of EPC projects and development and sale and maintenance of WTGs. The EPC business focuses on renewable energy, process and metallurgy and municipal services projects, biomass-based power projects, co-generation power projects and bio-ethanol plant projects. The WTG business is focused on developing, manufacturing, erecting and commissioning 250 KW WTGs. The company has completed EPC projects in 16 states across India, in Zambia and France; and completed wind energy projects for its WTG business throughout India. Headquartered in Chennai, other offices are located in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Beijing, and WTG and cooling tower factories in Chennai and Gujarat. As on Dec. 31, 2007, the consolidated order book stood at Rs 22,791.77 million. The company is currently developing megawatt-class WTGs through Leitner Shriram Manufacturing, an associate company; has collaborated with Envirotherm GmbH to receive an EPC contract to design, engineer and construct two producer gas plants for an iron ore polarization plant in Orissa; and works with Angerlehner, Austria on specific projects using their GRP technology. Other associate companies include Orient Green Power and Ennore Coke and has a subsidiary Shriram Leitwind to develop and manufacture MW-class WTGs. Clients include Madras Aluminum Company, Vedanta Aluminum, Grasim Industries, JSW Steel, SAIL, Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority and BHEL.
