Shreyas Shipping & Logistics (SHREYSL) provides container feeder services between Indian ports and internationally renowned container transshipment ports besides logistics and warehousing support. It was incorporated on Aug. 16, 1988 as a private limited company, was converted into a public limited company on Jan. 12, 1994, and got its present name on Aug. 22, 2005. The company operates its vessels mainly on the Mumbai-Dubai, Mumbai-Singapore, Mumbai-Colombo and Colombo-Chennai routes. It has nine ships, out of which 3 ships, namely OEL Trust, OEL Shreyas and OEL Express were acquired in FY07. The 1021-TEU capacity fully cellular ship Unity was acquired in November 2007, and a memorandum of understanding was signed for the purchase of a 29,990-DWT petroleum tanker at a cost of Rs 600 million in December 2007. The other ships under its fold are OEL Aishwarya, Orient Independence, OEL Victory, and OEL Strength. A coastal-feeder service from Jawaharlal NehruPort (JNP) to Kandla has been initiated. Shreyas Relay Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary, handles the logistics business operations and provides multi-modal, door-to-door transport solutions. In 2004, the company started providing integrated logistics services by extending its sea service chain through land and rail, which has yielded a growth of 62.72% in FY07 as compared to the previous year. It has also forayed into the warehousing business providing services to various customers across industry verticals. As on March 31, 2007, the loan exposure had increased to Rs 1,539.308 million as compared to Rs 264.736 million as on March 31, 2006 due to the acquisition of three second-hand container vessels, financed partly by debt. The net worth stood at Rs 1,610.55 million. A 51% stake has been acquired in Haytrans (India), which has a presence in international freight forwarding with a worldwide network of 17 offices.
