Aries Agro is engaged in the business of manufacturing micronutrients and other nutritional products for plants and animals. It was incorporated as a private limited company on Nov. 27, 1969, converted into a public limited company on Dec. 30, 1994, and got its current name on Oct. 27, 2006. The ISO 9001:2000 certified company has products spread across the five main categories of multi-micro nutrient fertilizers, chelated micro nutrient fertilizers, specialty soluble fertilizers, anti-bacterial products for agricultural use, and nutritional products for animals. These categories can be grouped under the three segments of plant nutrients, insecticides and veterinary products totaling around 37 products. Agromin and Chelamin are the flagship brands of the company.
The company has indigenously manufactured the product calcium chelate at its own R&D facilities. The manufacturing facilities are located in Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata with a total production capacity of 21,600 TPA. New units coming up in Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Maharashtra will increase the capacity to 95,400 TPA. Recipient of the Trans World gold medal and the National Unity Award, the company has 15 trade marks registered and has applied for 22 trademarks for renewal/registration.
Aries Agro Care and Aries Agro Equipments are subsidiaries of the company. It has a distribution network of 25 branches, about 4,000 distributors, more than 44,000 dealers, and retail outlets spread over 20 states across India. The company reported fall of 12.29% in standalone net profit on y-o-y basis to Rs 20.55 million, while total income fell 0.91% y-o-y basis to Rs 372.76 million for the quarter ended March 2011.
