Ess Dee Aluminium (ESSDEE) is in the business of manufacturing and marketing aluminum foils and polyvinyl film-based packaging products for the pharmaceutical industry. The company was incorporated as a private limited company on Feb. 10, 2004 and converted into a public limited company on June 14, 2006. The company is in the business of cold rolling of aluminum foil stock to aluminum foil, which is further converted into printers stock through the process of lamination for strip pack or coating for blister pack. Products include PVC, PVC/PVdC thermoforms with lidding foils to form blister packaging and strip packaging. The company has its manufacturing facilities at Daman (aluminium foils) and Goa (polyvinyl films). Currently, the company is increasing its aluminium foil rolling capacity and also setting up a unit in Daman for the manufacture of aluminium foil based flexible packaging products for food and FMCG industry. After the expansion the foil rolling capacity will increase from 3,600 TPA to 18,000 TPA. The company currently provides packaging solutions to the pharmaceutical industry and will also cater to the food and FMCG industry after expansion. Its wholly owned subsidiary, Flex Art Foil, is engaged in subsequent conversion of printers stock to customized size and printing to proprietary designs. The subsidiary has four units across the country. The company recently entered into the anti-counterfeit packaging segment. These include products like aluminum strip pack foil, aluminum blister pack foil, PVC film, etc. The company has a strong customer base of over 250 customers, which include pharma MNCs, Indian pharma majors and several small-scale industries.
