Bharati Shipyard currently owns two shipyards, which are strategically located at Ghodbunder, Thane and Ratnagiri. A subsidiary of the group, Pinky Shipyard owns a shipyard at Goa. From an output of only one small ship on inception, Bharati Shipyard has achieved an output of six vessels in a year. The company also repairs ships at its shipyards. The management expects around 20% of the total revenue from repairs after expansion is complete. Presently, Bharati Shipyard is capable of fabricating and erecting up to 14 vessels of various sizes with a maximum length up to 120 metres and breadth up to 18 metres simultaneously.
The company has a target level of productivity of 40 GWT per man-year. Bharati Shipyard has signed a contract with GREAT OFFSHORE for construction and supply of One Multipurpose Offshore Support Vessel. Bharati Shipyard has signed a contract with UP OFFSHORE (BAHAMAS) for construction and supply of two Platform Supply Vessels. The Contract value of the vessel is USD 64.80 million. This is the first Indian company to receive shipbuilding order from a South American group. Bharati Shipyard has been successful in getting orders from UAE, Qatar, Cyprus, Singapore, etc., and demand from this market will remain even in future especially for service vessels like offshore supply and other support crafts.
