Amtek India (AMTEKIN) is a manufacturer of automobile components and castings. Incorporated in 1982, it is part of the Amtek group, which has extensive manufacturing capabilities encompassing sub assemblies, iron, gravity and aluminum castings, forgings, flywheel assemblies, complex machining and ring gears across Asia, Europe and USA. The product portfolio with a special focus on iron castings includes a variety of large and medium-sized automotive components like connecting rods, spindles, transmission covers, gear shifter fork, yokes, bridge fork, bottom assembly, pivot arms, engine blocks, flywheel housings, crank-cases and other machined castings.
The manufacturing units are located at Gurgaon in Haryana, Bhiwadi in Rajasthan, and Solan in Himachal Pradesh with installed capacities of 17.5 million automobile components and 75,000 castings. It is the largest manufacturer of gear shifter forks in the country. As an original equipment supplier, products are routed to Maruti Udyog, JCB, New Holland Tractors, John Deere Tractors, Hundai Motors, ITL, Eicher Motors and refrigeration industries like LG Electronics.
The acquisition of the UK-based Sigmacast Group has provided access to one of the largest suppliers of turbocharger housing components for automobiles in the world. In FY07, a technical collaboration agreement was signed with Teksid S.p.A., the Italy-based world leader in the production of iron castings for the automotive industry with operations spread out in Europe, North and South America and Asia. This technical collaboration agreement will provide access to cutting edge technology for the manufacture of 1.3 liter small diesel engine blocks in India. Amtek Industries is a subsidiary.

The company announced rise of 91.42% in standalone net profit on y-o-y basis to Rs 370.20 million, while total income climbed 51.08% y-o-y basis to Rs 3.85 billion for the quarter ended March 2011.
