Voltamp Transformers (VOLTAMP) was established in 1963 and became a deemed public company in 1989. It is into designing and manufacturing different types of transformers with a focus on the industrial segment. The ISO 9001 accredited company offers products including oil-filled power and distribution transformers, cast resin and resin impregnated dry type transformers. The spectrum of transformers finds usage in industries like petrochemical, oil refining, cement, paper and pulp, pharmaceutical, automobiles, steel, power plant and metro rail applications. VOLTAMP offers services which include repairs, ratio conversion, capacity enhancement, overhauling and spares. It has over 15,000 installations across India, Nepal, Indonesia, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Middle East Asia. Voltamp Transformers has four manufacturing units in Makarpura, Gujarat with a capacity of 5,400 megavolt-ampere (MVA) capable of manufacturing transformers upto 50 MVA of 132 kV class, resin impregnated dry type transformers upto 5 MVA, 11 KV class (in technical collaboration with Mora, Germany) and cast resin dry type transformers upto 7.5 MVA, 33 KV class (in technical collaboration with HTT, Germany). A capital expenditure of Rs 150 million has been sanctioned by the company to increase installed capacity to 9,000 MVA. Around 90% of the company business comes from leading consultants like Engineers India, Kvaerner Power Gas, Uhde India, Chemtex Engineering, Dalal Consultants, Bechtel, Mecon, Fichtner Consulting Engineers, Development Consultants and turnkey contractors like ABB, Siemens, and L&T to name a few.
