Nelcast (NELCAST) is an iron casting manufacturing company. It was incorporated on June 7, 1982 as a private limited company and converted into a public limited company with its current name on Sept. 20, 1995. The company manufactures around 200 items in SG and grey iron castings including cylinder blocks, housings, rear hubs, brackets, spring shackles, housings, and exhaust manifolds that find application in the manufacture of heavy commercial vehicle segment and in the tractor segment. Nelcast also caters to the railways and the pipe fittings industries. With two manufacturing units located in Gudur, Andhra Pradesh and Ponneri, Tamil Nadu, it is one of India`s largest suppliers of ductile iron and grey iron castings ranging from 0.5 kg to 250 kg in weight. The installed capacity is expanding from 72,000 MTPA to 102,000 MTPA in 2007-2008. Certified with ISO 9002 and TS 16949, it has been awarded the best vendor award by Tafe and also rated as outstanding supplier for 2006 by Eicher Motors. The company caters to the requirements of almost all the major HCV and tractor manufacturers in India namely Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Eicher Motors, Tafe, Mahindra & Mahindra, and others. Products are exported to USA, Europe and Australia, meeting the stringent quality standards of Arvin Meritor, the Tier I supplier to Volvo, Sweden; and supplying to Sigma Pipes, USA, one of the leading manufacturers of cast iron pipes in USA. The company increased its market share with all its customers and attained an export growth of 32% for the year 2006-2007.
