Just to make it easy for you to understand; Ovicontacts is a feature in Ovisuite which is Nokia software for backing up of your Nokia phone contacts and other misc data.
You will be able to access your contacts on the web through OVIcontacts until 24 January, 2012. You can export/download all your data to your personal computer by visiting contactsui.ovi(dot)com and signing in to your account at any time, even after web access is discontinued.
If you still have additional questions related to the web access to Contacts and your data, the answers may be here, below:
Will I lose all my synced data or contacts?
No. No data is being deleted or ‘lost’ as a result of this change. All your data will continue to be available to your device in the normal way. All your synced data will be available for download/export, even after web access to your data is no longer available on contactsui.ovi(dot)com.
How will this affect the contacts experience on my device?
Your native device contacts experience will not change. If you visit contacts from the web browser on your device or desktop, however, you will not be able to view your contacts. Local syncing or backup of data on your device will continue normally. In other words, you will still be able to use and back up your contacts on your Nokia phone, the only change will be that web-access to your Contacts will no longer be available.
After web access is discontinued, what changes will I see online?
After web access is discontinued, you will only be able to see some informative text and have the ability to export your data. Your data will remain saved, all you need to do is export/download it. (Before web access is discontinued, you will still be able to see your contacts data in a list or card view.)
I have not synced my Nokia device for a while and the Web service is discontinued, how do I transfer the data to my device?
Simply sync your device. All the data you have saved on Ovi Contacts will be transferred to your device.
