Hindusthan National Glass & Industries (HINDNATG) is involved in the manufacture of glass containers. It was originally incorporated as Hindustan National Glass Manufacturing Company on Feb. 23, 1946 and got its present name on Nov. 22, 1971. The company is part of the HNG wing of the C.K. Somany group. Other companies under the HNG wing are ACE Glass Containers, Glass Equipment (India), Ceramic Decorators, Somany Foam and Quality Minerals. A number of investment companies, partnership firms and charitable trusts are also a part of the HNG group. The ISO 9001 certified company manufactures over 300 types of glass containers at its two plants at Rishra in West Bengal and Bahadurgarh in Haryana with a total installed glass melting capacity of 489,025 MTPA.
The Company operates six furnaces and 27 production lines and can produce bottles of any conceivable shape and size with its available CAD/CAM system. It has promoted HNG Float Glass in FY07 to set up a 600 ton-per-day float glass project in western India at a project cost of Rs 4,500 million. In November 2007, it purchased a glass container manufacturing plant located at Neemrana in Rajasthan with an installed capacity of 120 tons per day from IFCI. Glass Equipment (India), a 100% subsidiary of the company is the largest glass machine manufacturer in the country providing complete engineering and technical support. The use of the latest CNC machines enables production of dies and components with the desired precision and accuracy. The company caters to customers like United Breweries, McDowell, SmithKline Beecham, Nestle, Dabur, Pfizer, Dr. Morepen, Seagram, Glaxo, Zandu, IPCA, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola and others.
