Engineers India (EIL) was established in 1965 by Govt. of India. Its core area of work is to provide engineering and related technical services for petroleum refineries and other industrial projects. In addition, EIL has diversified into other fields such as pipelines, petrochemicals, oil and gas processing, offshore structures and platforms, fertilizers, metallurgy and power.EIL is also diversifying into several new areas including highways & bridges, IT, airports, mass rapid transport systems, ports & terminals, power projects, non-conventional / renewable energy sources, specialist materials and maintenance services, intelligent buildings, water and urban development projects. It has strategic alliances with domestic as well as international players like Petronet LNG for overseas LNG projects, Petronet LNG; China National Machinery & Equipment Import & Export Corporation; Harbin Power Engineering, Apache Energy, VAI Industries UK, Deutsche Montan Technologies GmbH; Calibre Projects China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation for power projects. Oil and gas sector will hold centre stage in company`s business perspective. In the mining and base metal sectors, the bauxite mining to-aluminium metal production route will continue to be important for EIL. A three-year plan has been drawn up to give a thrust to R&D activities with special emphasis on commercialization of indigenous technologies.
Engineers India is headquartered in Delhi and has zonal offices, inspection offices at major equipment manufacturing locations in India. It also has overseas offices at London, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Qatar, Malaysia and Australia. EIL has two wholly owned subsidiaries, EIL Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd in Malaysia and Certification Engineers International.
