Dhanalakshmi Bank (DHANBANK) is a scheduled commercial bank. It was incorporated on 14th November 1927 and became a scheduled commercial bank in the year 1977. The bank offers retail services like deposits (Dhanam +, Lakshmi Recurring Deposit Scheme, etc), credit, agricultural products, and relationship banking; corporate services like cash management, credit products, corporate salary, handling interest/dividend/warrant; and other services like RBI bonds, safe deposit lockers, depository, insurance and NRI. It has 181 branches and 26 extension counters spread over eight states. The bank is tech savvy and has introduced centralized banking solution (CBS) in 150 branches covering around 95% of total business. For debit cards, the bank has joined Cashnet, the National Financial Switch (ATM network) of the IDRBT, and Cash tree promoted by a group of public sector banks. It has introduced tele-banking in 57 branches and Internet banking in 93 branches. It has implemented centralized CMS software and has a real time gross settlement (RTGS) system to facilitate large value payments and settlements in real time on-line mode on a transaction-by-transaction basis. The bank has ventured into insurance by selling life insurance products of MetLife India, and non-life insurance products of Iffco Tokio. The bank is also a depository participant of NSDL, offering demat services. It has set up NRI boutiques at eight locations in Kerala and has rupee-drawing arrangements with seven exchange houses in the Middle East. For fast money transfer, it has tied up with Moneygram, Wallstreet instant cash and Xpress Money with UAE exchange.
