Dhampur Sugar Mills (DHAMPUR) is a sugar and chemicals manufacturing company. It was incorporated on May 22, 1933. The company offers sugar (sulphurless sugar, white sugar, raw sugar), chemicals (acetic acid, acetic anhydride, ethyl acetate, acetaldehyde, oxalic acid, and carbon dioxide), ethanol, demerara sugar, javic khad (manure), quick lime, golden syrup, and jaggery. The company sells sugar under the brand name Dhampure. The company has three sugar units in Dhampur, Asmoli and Mansurpur. A fourth unit is coming up in Rajpura, Badaun district, Uttar Pradesh with a cane crushing capacity of 6,000 TCD. In fiscal 2006, the company had a total capacity of 30,750 TCD. Using bagasse, the residual fiber of sugarcane after crushing and extraction, the company has set up an eco-friendly, co-generation plant. This plant had a capacity of 54 MW in fiscal 2006. The company has expanded the capacity of the chemical division from 100 KLPD to 140 KLPD by the year ended September 2006. DSM Hi-tech Products is a subsidiary of the company. As of July 2007, the company held a 48.5% interest in Kashipur Sugar Mills, which ceased to be a subsidiary. In 2006, the company issued GDRs raising USD 53.7 million. The company also sold its Rauzagaon sugar and cogen plant for Rs 1,820 to create liquidity.
