Cinemax India (CINEMAX) was incorporated in May 2002 as a private company under the name Cineline Entertainment India and converted to a public company. It got the current name on Jun. 12, 2006. Cinemax India, part of the Kanakia group, is an emerging family entertainment center focused primarily in the fields of film exhibition and gaming. The Company operates in three segments: film exhibition, gaming and mall development. The chairman and executive director of Cinemax India is Rasesh B. Kanakia and Himanshu B. Kanakia is the managing director. CINEMAX has one of the largest exhibition theater chains in India operating 13 multiplex properties with 39 screens and 11,028 seats. It operates 10 theaters in and around Mumbai. The company`s brand Cinemax is one of the most recognizable film exhibition brands in the areas where the company operates. The company`s gaming business is currently operational under the brand name Giggles - The Gaming Zone at Eternity Mall, Thane. Cinemax India is spread over 13,000 sq. ft. and offers around 50 state-of-the-art games. The company has also developed over 200,000 sq ft. of mall area at Eternity Mall. CINEMAX is currently developing a property at Nagpur with over 100,000 sq. ft. and 30,000 sq. ft. at Eternity Mall (Phase 2), which are expected to be operational by FY07 and FY08, respectively. Cinemax India has three wholly-owned subsidiaries, namely, Vista Entertainment, Growel Entertainment and Nikmo Finance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Growel Entertainment. Vista Entertainment and Nikmo Finance operate the company`s multiplexes at Versova. The registered office of Cinemax India is located at Mumbai, India.
