Century Enka, established in 1965, is an India based textile company. The company is engaged in production of nylon and polyester filament yarns (NFY/PFY), polyester oriented yarns (POY), jumbo beams, speciality yarns, industrial/fibre grade chips, industrial yarns and tyre cord fabrics. Century Enka has three plants: Century Enka located at Pune in Maharashtra, Konkan Synthetic Fibres located at Mahad in Maharashtra and Rajashree Polyfil located at Bharuch in Gujrat. The company has an installed capacity of 110,000 tons per annum of nylon chips/NFY and polyester chips/PFY and a 12,000 tons per annum capacity of industrial filament and tyre cord fabric. Century Enka had announced a steep drop of 36.01% in net profits for the quarter ending in September, 2006. During the quarter, the company had a fall in profits from Rs 121.90 million to Rs 78.00 million. Sales for the quarter rose 5.20% to Rs 2,550.00 million compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago. The company`s net profit for the year ended March 2006 had fallen drastically from Rs 5,25.60 million during the year ended March 2005 to Rs 175.9 million. The company`s EPS for FY06 stood at Rs 8.77. Financials The company reported rise of 37.00% in standalone net profit on y-o-y basis to Rs 208.10 million, while total income climbed 17.94% y-o-y basis to Rs 3.59 billion for the quarter ended March 2011.
