Tantia Constructions (TANTIACON) is engaged in infrastructural construction activities. It was incorporated on Dec. 4, 1964, became a public limited company on May 27, 1982, and got its current name on Dec. 29, 2005. The company services Indian Railways in earthwork, ballast, rail-track linking and welding, bridges, tunnels, electrification, and signaling. Besides these, it has undertaken projects involving construction of roads and highways, bridges and flyovers, sewerage and drainage networks, marine infrastructure space, power transmission and distribution and aviation infrastructure. Major projects executed include a 14-km track embankment, bridges, laying and linking of rails in Katwa, West Bengal; five bridges in Bihar located in a region inaccessible by road; BOT project for conversion of medium gauge to broad gauge from Viramgam to Mehsana in Gujarat; design and construction of 17 bridges in various districts of Tamil Nadu on a turnkey basis; construction of 4-laning in Kerala under phase - II program of North-South and East-West corridor projects; construction of the departmental and administrative block for Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry College campus in Selesih, Mizoram; and infrastructure works at The Relocation of Industries Project in Delhi.
The recent prestigious projects bagged by the company include three road construction projects from National Hydroelectric Power Corporation for five years in Patna, Bihar; two road rehabilitation construction projects from World Bank Projects in Uttar Pradesh under Uttar Pradesh State Roads Projects; rail work from Eastern Railway for earthwork, blanketing work, and construction of RCC bridges; a project from Airport Authority of India for construction of a new terminal building and allied works at Cooch Behar Airport; several contracts from CPWD for construction and development of state highways in Bihar.
