Omax Autos (OMAX) is an auto ancillary company manufacturing components for the two-wheeler and four-wheeler automotive industries. It was incorporated in 1983. For the two-wheeler industry, the company manufactures steering handle assemblies, carriers, side covers, oil pump assemblies, sprocket cams and sprocket timings, engine guards, complete frame assemblies, pedal kick starters, mufflers, footrests, main stands, brake pedals, sprockets and chain cases. For the four-wheelers, it offers neck fuel filters, trunk hinges, wiper rods, frame assemblies, transmission shafts, steering column shafts, rocker arm shafts, truck chassis, back plates for brake shoes, piston rods for damper assemblies, shroud fans, door beams, half shaft bars, base battery sets, and seat assemblies. It also manufactures sheet metal, tubular welded, and precise machined components and sprockets.
The company has its manufacturing facilities in Haryana, Bangalore (Karnataka), and Lucknow (to be commissioned in 2008). The company entered into a memorandum of understanding with PSP Co., Iran to set up two joint venture companies, one in India and the other in Iran to expand the component business. Construction work started at its Lucknow plant, which will manufacture chassis for TATA Motors. The company supplies components to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) like Carrier Aircon, Eicher Motors, Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India, Honda Siel Car India, International Tractors, Maruti Udyog, New Holland Tractor, Yamaha Motors India, and TVS Motors. Tier-1 customers include Bharat Seats, Denso India, Delphi Automotives, Jai Bharat Maruti, Lucas TVS, Mitsuba Sical India, Krishna Maruti and Sundaram Clayton. The company exports its products to North America and Europe to such clients as Delphi Automotives, Tenneco Automotives, Cummins, Piaggio Italia, IKEA-Sweden, and many more.
