KCP (KCP), part of the V. Ramakrishna group, is a diversified company with business interests in heavy engineering, cement and hydel power. The company was incorporated on Jul. 03, 1941. The heavy engineering division has facilities in Chennai for casting, fabrication and machining heavy equipment and supplies key mechanical machinery to the core sector industries like sugar, steel, power, and mining. It has been providing high quality import substitution equipment to the Indian sugar and cement industry. The company has worked with global engineering and EPC companies like FL Smidth (USA), BECHTEL (Australia), ThyssenKrupp Fordertechnik (Germany), Mannesmann Demag (Germany), Alstom (France), SMS (Germany), Voest Alpine (Austria), Praxair (USA), Kvaener Paladon, MANTAKRAF (Germany) ..etc. The division is ISO 9001:2000 certified. Indian customers include Alstom, Tata, ACC, BHEL, ..etc. International clients include Bechtel in Austalia, SLFU in China, among others. The cement division has a state-of-the-art cement manufacturing plant in Macherla, Andhra Pradesh with an installed capacity of 450,000 TPA to manufacture grade 53 portland cement. The Nagarjuna dam was built with 1.34 million MT of cement procured from the company. KCP generates power in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh from five different canal drops. The capacity of four of these power projects is 1.5 MW and the fifth is 2.25 MW to provide a total generation capacity of 8.25 MW.
