HEG is a diversified company with interests in graphite electrodes and power. The graphite electrode division was set up in technical and financial collaboration with SERS, a subsidiary of Pechiney of France. Part of the LNJ Bhilwara group of industries, the company was incorporated on Oct. 27, 1972. The company offers graphite electrodes, activated carbon fabric, carbon blocks, and other graphite specialties with application service to clients. Its plant is located at Mandideep near Bhopal (MP) with an annual capacity of 52,000 tons of UHP grade electrodes. The company has a dedicated R&D setup for carbon and graphite and is an ISO 9001 & ISO 14000 certified company. It has a captive 25 MW power generation facility. The company has won the country`s top export award (CAPEXCIL) for 17 consecutive years. It has also won National Top Export Award from the Government of India and the Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Commendation Award. About 80% of the production is exported to 25 countries. The company exports its graphite electrodes to steel manufacturers in the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific, South Africa, and the Middle East.
