Banco Products India (BANCO), incorporated on Mar. 16, 1961, produces gaskets and radiators that have applications in automobiles, oil engines, compressors and locomotives. The ISO/TS 16949:2002 certified company offers over 12,000 varieties of gaskets in multi-layered steel, graphite, fiber steel and copper designs for automotive, agricultural vehicles, and diesel commercial vehicles; radiators for cars and pickups, industrial radiators, air-to-air intercoolers, custom-designed intercoolers, intercoolers cores for various commercial vehicles and off-road industrial applications; and compressed jointing sheets using non asbestos raw materials which are environmentally friendly. Production is carried out at four plants based in Vadodara, Gujarat in technical collaboration with Elring Klinger, Germany and Japan Metal Gaskets, Japan for the Indian markets.
The total installed capacities include 500,000 aluminum and copper-brass automotive radiators and 4,000 industrial radiators per annum, and a production capacity of 60 million gaskets per month. Early in 2008, it commissioned a new assembly plant at Jamshedpur to cater mainly to the demands of major OEM manufacturers in the region. It has a full-fledged R&D department that has developed among others a special radiator for diesel locomotives of the Indian Railways and introduced rubberized cores in gaskets.
The company is an original equipment supplier to Indian automobile majors including Telco, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, Premier Auto, Hindustan Motors and Maruti Udyog. It exports its products to Australia, Germany, Singapore and the UK. The ongoing investments in capacity and product development with a competitive cost structure has resulted into a sales growth of around 50% compared to the financial Year ended on Mar. 31, 2006.
