Paypal is asking its all account holders in India to verify their Pan number failing which they will not be able to send or receive money online and their account will be in a limited status. This is by virtue of Reserve bank of India order asking Paypal to comply with Indian norms for accepting money.
On verification they will receive following message:
PAN (or permanent account number) refers to a 10-digit alphanumeric combination issued in the form of a card, by the Income Tax Department in India. You can find your PAN printed on the front of your card.
In accordance with Indian regulations, you are required to add a PAN to receive payments into your PayPal account and make withdrawals to your bank account in India.
