The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cautioned Indian investors and banks against illegal overseas foreign exchange trading through internet and electronic trading portals which offer “guaranteed high returns”.The advertisements by these internet/online portals exhort people to trade in forex by way of paying the initial investment amount in Indian rupees,” the RBI said in a circular. The public is being asked to make the margin payments for such online forex trading transactions through credit cards/deposits in various accounts maintained with banks in India. Thus start trading in forex market only after due diligence and do not get on to the wrong side of the law as any wrong transfer of overseas money means one can be in FEMA net. Make sure that you trade only through registered brokers who are authorised for forex trading in India. RBI has even asked banks to open such accounts for money transfer with due diligence and probably that is the reason that funds transfer through Paypal has become so difficult in India.
