Valecha Engineering (VALECHEN) executes infrastructure works like road construction. It was incorporated as a private limited company on Mar. 5, 1977 and converted into a public limited company on Nov. 26, 1993. Earlier known as Valecha Bros., it got its present name on Dec. 23, 1993. The company is in the business of construction and infrastructure development of roads, dams, bridges, highways and other structures. It is registered for such works with major customers like PWD, MKVDC, TIDC, GMIDC, Madras Port Trust and others. As on March 31, 2007, it had a good order book position of above Rs 8,000 million including Jammu & Kashmir Road Project, MPRDC Road Project, Jaipur Airport Project and piling projects. Recent projects bagged in March 2008 include road works at Pune, Delhi Airport Express Line work and piling projects valued at Rs 2.5 billion. Earlier, it bagged projects includes additional works of Integrated Road Development Project (IRDP) at Pune and Udaipur Tunnel Project at Udaipur worth Rs 1 billion. A land bank of 22 acres has been acquired in Pune, where development is envisaged in 2008-2009. Having established itself in India, the company has undertaken major infrastructure projects in the Middle East in the name of Valecha-Gulf. It has started operations of ground engineering for constructing structures and villa projects.
