Incorporated in 1975, Hyderabad-based Pennar Industries (PIL) was promoted by the Pennar group. The company is into the manufacturing of cold rolled steel strips and cold formed metal profiles and engineering components. The company`s plants are located at Tarapur in Maharashtra and Sangareddy in Andhra Pradesh. In order to service the growing auto sector and the rail coach factory based in Chennai, the company`s fourth facility is being set up in a site near Chennai. The new plant will produce value-added profiles and components for the automobile and railway sectors. PIL merged its Nagarjuna steel plant located at Patancheru near Hyderabad with itself in 1997. This resulted in increase of production capacity and a diversified product mix consisting of cold rolled steel, cold formed profiles and pressed components. PIL has customers like Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, ICF, BEML, L&T, Thermax, ABB, and ACC.
