Thus if these stocks do provide some positive news than again ALL is well and journey will commence to the upside. Definitely it was a bad day for the market as huge selloff has been seen on big volumes. Capital goods, realty and power stocks were the worst hit. The benchmark Sensex closed near the day's lows at 17,051, down 423 points or 2.42%, the biggest percentage decline since November 3, while the Nifty fell 128 points or 2.44% to 5,094. CNX Midcap index was down 2.46% and BSE Smallcap index was down 2.48%.


The market breadth was negative with advances at 168 against declines of 1128 on the NSE. It is a matter of concern that Nifty long term support at 5180 has been broken decisively. Be on the look out for monetary policy which will determine the course of the mkt direction to a great extent and if it is not harsh, than again good days will return. However we need to closely watch if the level of Nifty 4949 is maintained or not and if the same is not maintained than one can see some more fall in offing.
