1. TVS motors is hoping to use the wimbeldon as a occasion to launch its two limited edition scooters inspired by the spirit of Wimbledon. The launch of these scooters is scheduled with forthcoming wimbeldon tournament and the aim is to utilise the occasion to associate the scooter among women who have the passion for the games.
2. COmpany achieved 5% growth in sales in April 2008, and the same could not have had been feasible without the contribution from its controversial Flame, a 125-cc motorcycle, which was launched with a few modifications a month ago.
3. Detail of company results is as following:
(a) Two-wheeler sales-109,937 vs 104,893 units in the previous year in the same corresponding period.
(b) Motorcycle sales -58,202 vs 53,499 units in the previous year in the same corresponding period.
(c)TVS Scooty sales-19,034 vs 18,798 units in the previous year in the same corresponding period.
(d) Exports gave a thrust to its bottom line as an increase of 41.49% was witnessed with sale of 10,213 units vs 7,231 units in the previous year in the same corresponding period.
