1. Asia and US markets were trading in positive and thus Indian stock market took the correct cue from it and marched ahead.
2. Sensex was up by 2.8% at 17600 and Nifty was up by 2.2% at 5228.
3. The CNX Midcap index was up by 3.5%, BSE Smallcap index up 1.5%. BSE IT Index and BSE Realty index both up 7%, BSE Auto index up 5.6% and BSE Bankex index was up 3.3%
4. The market breadth was positive which is a positive sign and had advances at 709 against declines of 537 on the NSE.
5. The Indian stocks which shone today at NSE included ICICI Bank, Maruti and L&T while Indian stocks which got dumped included Sterlite, Reliance Communications and Hindalco.
