1. Indian stock market closed in red due to prevailing holiday in the stock market(Maharashtra Day) on the next day and impending US Fed meet tonight.
2. Sensex closed at 17287, down 91 points and Nifty closed at 5165, down 29 points from the previous close and the same can be termed as a breather for the stock market.
3. The CNX Midcaps index was down 0.24%.
4. BSE Smallcaps index was down 0.30%.
5. One should always take a cue from the market breadth which was negative with advances at 562 against declines of 682 on the NSE.
6. The stocks which made some moves on the stock market to include NSE are ITC, SAIL and Tata Motors while losers included Cairn India, HDFC and DLF.
