1. Despite Asian markets closing strong due to good cues from the US markets and European markets traded mixed and despite all overseas bullishness Indian stock market had a disappointing close, losing most of the day's gains in late trade which is a matter of concern. Reliance and ONGC have to show strength to take the Sensex and Nifty to higher levels and same can commence if Nifty trades above 5500 levels.
2. Sensex closed at 17825, up 19 points and Nifty at 5268, down 1 point from the previous close.
3. The CNX Midcaps index was up 0.6% and BSE Smallcaps index was up 0.2%.
4. However only solace is that stock market breadth is positive with advances at 665 against declines of 554 on the NSE.
5. One can trade as a cue from top Nifty gainers which include Sun Pharma, HDFC and BHEL while losers included Reliance Industries, Nalco and Suzlon. Reliance losing streak is a matter of concern for the market.
